This is the third (and very late) edition of our series co+Lab Buzz. We’ll regularly gather the most recent and newsworthy accomplishments coming out of our coworking space and deliver them to you on a silver platter.
Enjoy edition #3!
Donnie Ungaro
In the past few months the OYP has met with and helped over a dozen newcomers to the Okanagan get plugged into the community and meet like minded people. We are excited for a killer 2015 with some great new additions and expansions.
On the Culinary Ink side, we launched North America’s first ever non-profit owned food bike. We partnered with Metro Community, The Kelowna Food Bank and Soles 4 Souls to test the business model in late September with great success. Look for our 3 food bikes on the road early March 2015.

John van der Woude
Some of you may not know, but John runs a website called Hockey By Design, about visual design and branding in the NHL, which includes creating hockey-specific posters to sell on his site. He’s had a couple high-profile purchases in the last couple weeks, including Keith Olbermann (of ESPN and MSNBC fame) who purchased the History of Hockey print which outlines the entire history of professional hockey in North America, and Chris Cuthbert (former CBC and current TSN play-by-play sportscaster, who purchased the Golden Goal poster, which features Mr Cuthbert’s own play-by-play from Sidney Crosby’s gold-medal winning goal from the 2010 Olympics.
If you ever want to come to CoLab to talk hockey, John’s your man! And if you want some great gift ideas for hockey lovers this Christmas, he may have what you’re looking for.
